Puketira Deer is a 267 ha deer and sheep breeding and finishing farm situated on rolling limestone hills in a summer dry environment.
Our family have farmed in this district since 1870 and we have a strong focus on good stewardship of the land to ensure sustainability and succession for future generations. We are the fourth generation to farm here and hope that in the future it will continue to be farmed by our family.
Loosely translated from Maori “Puketira” means “hill with the outstanding view!” – we think that is a very apt description and also reflects our philosophy of looking for opportunities.
